My Story
Lucy Bella Donna is the mother of four children and grandmother of four girls. She attended a Vocational High School in Manhattan, and she taught Interior Design at a local College. She was accepted into the Nassau Community College School of Nursing and graduated in 1990. She worked in clinical, public, and private settings until her retirement.
Prompted by Christ's example that we are to wash one another's feet (John 13:14) Lucy Bella Donna tended to the feet of the first responders during the tragedy of 9/11. Working from a first-aid station near ground zero, she provided foot baths, lotion, fresh socks, shoes, and boots to the first responders, with supplies that came in from all over the nation. She considered it an honor to serve and be a part of this endeavor which she considered one of the most rewarding experiences of her nursing career.
Grateful for the opportunity to tell others about her Savior she found another way, in her stories, to carry the message of salvation to others. She enjoys reading, painting, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and taking care of her rescue dog Luca.
